Public media is under attack in all of Europe because the right wing oligarchs cannot buy and control it. This is all financed by Musk and friends.

We have to protect these institutions at all cost if we want to keep our freedom.

One of the first things Ronald Reagan did as President was go after FCC rules.

When radio and TV were just getting started, there was a bipartisan push to make sure no one got too much control of the airwaves. No one could own all the TV or radio stations in one town, and if you broadcast an editorial anyone who disagreed with it was given equal time to refute it.

Cable TV in the US is still under FCC control, but Reagan and the GOP worked like demons to defang it.

The campaign ads in favor of cutting the budget are really unnerving. They play hard on “look how much money you would save”, and use AI generated video clips, particularly of elderly and children. The last poll I saw predicted an uncertain outcome, so it doesn’t seem unrealistic that the people will actually vote to cut the budget. And that makes me sick.

I don’t trust the majority of people to make decisions rooted in reality and facts anymore.
