Which I think is fair TBH. We had a sweet deal, but we fucked it up by being idiots. No reason to give us special treatment, dumb actions have consequences.

why would EU entertain Breturn? Even if they did allow this, UK would just exit again in a few years.

Then why did they leave? I thought Brussels was stealing all the money, and if UK goes back, what will happen to the 200 million a year the NHS gets?

          Buses dont lie.

You need to accept the fact that even idiots can realize they were lied to now and then. It seems like enough British idiots noticed in this case.

Ireland drives on the left also and is an eu member. Why should Britain rejoining, which messed is up first time round lead to more annoying changes for us when they rejoin. Were both islands seperate from the continent, so it shouldn’t affect things to keep the status quo.

If it has to be done, we should at least phase it in. Perhaps have professional drivers like taxis or trucks switch first and then cars next and learner drivers last. Should ease the transition.

In all seriousness, I can see a future where we move to self driving cars and they don’t have a preferred side for the wheel or controls, so at one point it would make sense to change everything over to be consistent. However, at that point, it would not make sense to have roads being used in a system designed for human use. The roads should just be used as efficiently as possible, which might mean tidal lanes etc or abandoning lanes altogether and cars just.using the space that their size needs.

It might cost time and money to fix but the end result can be beautiful. Getting there can also have purpose beyond the end result.

Sure it already was nice and functional, but if it’s now broken, you either fix it or have a broken vase.

Most of the people who voted for it are either dead or pretending that voted remain now. Political sentiment has definitely shifted towards rejoin at some point.

Are we ready for the fight yet though? Probably not. But we can definitely have closer and closer alignment to smooth the way

Avoiding the fight sounds like a bad idea. It’s great that public sentiment has shifted!

Exactly, especially when the brexit side won by using misinformation and discrediting experts (without any facts, of course). Now people can see through their lies with their own experience.

They can’t claim the money goes the the NHS. The NHS is less funded now. They can’t claim Britain is stronger alone. They early aren’t. They can’t pretend they will make better deals elsewhere. That didn’t pan out and America is not a reliable ally. Barely an ally at this point. They can’t complain about eu decided standards, as they have now discovered that they still need to comply. They can’t complain about immigration as that didn’t stop, by necessity, it just shifted to different nationalities, usually with less recognised training and skills.
