BRUSSELS (AP) — The U.S.-Israeli war on Iran and Tehran’s retaliatory strikes across the Middle East are quickly dragging Europe in, forcing the continent into defensive action to protect military bases and evacuate citizens caught up in the conflict.

Sure, having to make plans to evacuate some tourists and expats is totally being drawn in the war…

(PS: personal opinion: let the latter group of happy tax evaders pay for that service.)

A member state (Cyprus) was attacked by Iranian drones most likely sent by Iranian proxy Hezbollah out of Lebanon.

As it allows to be drawn*

Not really, as in intentional provoked like atacking Cyprus which is in the EU? That’s apart from atacking ships in the Suez and other shit. Doesn’t mean EU will atack Iran, but Iran is definitely atacking EU boats and territory.

Well, Cyprus has a British air base, which was (and possibly still is) used by the US air force as a staging area for missions in the Middle East. Military installations used by an opponent are legitimate targets in a war.

If you allow attacks to be launched from your territory, then you are a party to the war.

Might be too late now perhaps, but the EU could’ve stayed out of it if they wanted to, imo
