5 days agoI don’t trust Uber here in the slightest. If you’re concerned about safety in transport I’d look into local community based programs that aren’t forming their entire basis for the program off of garbage AI face recognition.
Also, 99/100 of my last Uber drivers were men. Is it better standing on the street waiting for your ride for 20 minutes?
This just feels like a problem that doesn’t need its solution implemented by Uber. It feels like theyre just saying “yeah, we don’t verify our drivers aren’t going to kill you with a face to face interview. But, we’ll make you wait longer for one that has “F” on the license they gave us”.
Really feels like a false sense of security.
When you live in a world where a “second school strike” is usually referring to a bombing carried out by the US or Israel. It’s sad that’s the first thing that comes to mind when you read a title like this.
