      It’s a british website. Media often explicitly name their location even for news of supraregional relevance to pull in their audience. Just basic media stuff.

      It sort of makes sense with Britain no longer being part of the EU. At least, that’s the only reason I can think to put it that way.

        We’ve always referred to it as the continent or europe. Britain has never seen itself as fully part of Europe. Only for the 40 years of membership in the EEC/EU and then only politically in certain circumstances, not culturally.
