U.S. Central Command said the circumstances of the crash are under investigation but that the loss of the aircraft was “not due to hostile or friendly fire.”

The amount of denying makes me think it was attacked. They lied about casualties multiple times at this point so it wouldn’t surprise me if it comes out later this was a lie too.

I don’t doubt it was actually an accident. Military aircraft have accidents/crashes plenty during peacetime. It happens every year.

Aircraft require at least dozens of hours of maintenance per hour of flight, and tons of safety checks and procedures. But during periods of increased military activity, the mistakes compound faster in a shorter amount of time, and accidents are bound to become more frequent.

Yeah no way 2 of the same type of aircrafts had the same accident at the same time.

I don’t know what you’re talking about. Are you referring to the other KC-135 mentioned in the article?

A U.S. official, who spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss the developing situation, said the other plane involved was also a KC-135. Yechiel Leiter, the Israeli ambassador to the U.S., wrote on X that the other plane landed safely in Israel.

Yes. “unspecified incident involving two aircraft” was the cause for one of them crashing, while another one managed to do unscheduled landing. In aviation where margins for errors are almost non existent, there isn’t a world where the same accident can occur in 2 planes at the same time.
